The Sport-Thieme "Club" beach volleyball posts with innovative net attachment
The Sport-Thieme "Club" beach volleyball posts are made of steel and feature a diameter of 83 mm. Two comb-shaped bars with rounded teeth pointing inwards are welded onto each post. By moving the snap hooks over the teeth, the net height can be adjusted in stages without detaching the net. To do so, slightly loosen the net cord, position the snap hook to the desired height and retighten the net. The men's playing height (2.43 m), the women's playing height (2.24 m) and many other heights can easily be set in this way. The adjustment range is approx. 50 cm. The posts are designed for nets with six attachment loops.

The dimensions of a beach volleyball court
Court size:
The actual size of the playing area is 16x8 m. To improve the rhythm of the game, the FIVB decided to reduce the dimensions of the court from the 18x9 m indoor size to 16x8 m in 1999.
According to the FIVB, for official international competitions, the free area around the sidelines must be a minimum of 5 m and a maximum of 6 m. For recreational games, a minimum of 3 m is sufficient.
Where several courts are set up next to one another, there should be a distance of 4 m between the sidelines, so that several groups can play at the same time without obstructing each other.
There should be at least 7 m of free space above the court. The free space for official international competitions must be at least 12.5 m, measuring from the playing surface.
Net height:
The official net height varies for men and women. The net is vertical above the centre line, with its upper edge at a height of 2.43 m for men and 2.24 m for women. The net height also varies for the following age categories:
16 years and below – boys and girls 2.24 m
14 years and below – boys and girls 2.12 m
12 years and below – boys and girls 2.00 m
Post distance: the distance between posts is 10 m (16x8 m) and 11 m (18x9 m). The posts must be placed on both sides at the same distance from the sideline. The permitted distance is 0.7-1.0 m from the sideline to the padding of the post.
When tightened, the net is 8.5 m (16x8 m) or 9.5 m (18x9 m) long and 1 m wide (± 3 cm).
