The soft needle-felt surface allows the athlete to perform the gymnastics exercises safely without burns or grazes. The wooden core makes it easier to transport and handle the mat. It can be safely and easily stowed away using the buckle strap. The mat can also be used as an underlay for crash mats during artistic gymnastics.
