The Sport-Thieme "Classic" gym climbing rope is made from durable hemp and features a plastic shrink tubing closure at its lower end to prevent fraying, thereby extending the rope's lifespan while also protecting users from injuries. A galvanized steel ring at the top allows for easy and secure hanging of the rope. Available in various lengths, we also offer custom lengths upon request. Please contact us at info@sport-thieme.com with your required rope length for a quote. Each rope longer than 5.5 meters is marked with a red fabric tape at 5 meters to guide users.

Which Rope Length Do I Need?

When ordering your climbing rope, please note that according to DIN 18032-1 and DIN 18032-6 standards, the rope should start 40 cm above the ground. Order your rope 40 cm shorter accordingly. The correct rope length includes the hanging loop, measured from the pressure point of the hanging bracket (top end) to the bottom end of the shrink tubing. As ropes are measured slightly under tension, the actual length might adjust after being hung for a while. To determine the necessary climbing rope length for your climbing setup, first measure the distance from the hanging bracket to the ground.

Important Notes on Using the Climbing Rope:

Climbing ropes should not be tied in knots, as this can lead to injuries when sliding down. The permissible load capacity is approximately 200 kg.

Note for Structural Engineers:

According to DIN 7911-2:1998-12, the load assumptions for hanging climbing ropes, rope ladders, swings, etc., are a vertical load of 2000 N and a horizontal load of 900 N per hanging point (excluding the swing coefficient).
