The Goalball goal: a somewhat different way of playing football
Goalball has been specially developed as a Paralympic sport for the visually impaired and blind. A Goalball goal is much wider than a conventional football goal. The Goalball pitch is 9 metres wide and 18 metres long. A match is played in 2x 12-minute periods, where 3 players of each team compete against each other. The ball features a bell and is to be thrown into the opponents’ goal. The opposing team can deflect the ball by throwing themselves in its path.
